We want you! at bootcamp
If you want to get fit, you can go to the gym - or you can be beaten into shape at bootcamp.
Elite athletes and couch potatoes alike are turning to the high discipline outdoor group training to tone up and lose weight.
More than 100 recruits aged 15 to 70 attend the Castle Hill RSL Club C2K Bootcamp 60-minute training sessions three times a week.
Trainer Simon Bungate said: "Quite a few want to lose weight and some are really fit and their goals are to do marathons."
Sergeant Bungate said the sessions were an inspiring and entertaining way of training and were "definitely military-inspired"
Sessions consist of a resistance component and a cardio-vascular component. "There are push-ups, sit-ups and exercises with names such as mountain-climbers, cross countries and frogs," he said. "It's all to do with functional strength - things that help you in every day life."
A health-science graduate and former professional rugby league player who has worked with sporting teams, Sgt Bungate emphasised the importance of the team aspect. "The\ do exercises where they run with ropes and beer kegs and they have to work as a team," he said.
